Typical oil jar from the Saintonge region, crafted in lightweight terracotta, preserving the understated charm of everyday objects from the period. Its brown glaze, still well-preserved, highlights the fine craftsmanship. The sticks forming a Roman numeral and the finger impressions add subtle decorative detail. Two small chips at the neck do not affect the piece’s stability or elegance. A rare object, exemplary of the pottery skill in Saintonge during the 16th and 17th centuries.
