A true suspended garden, this six-arm “basket” chandelier is a celebration of airy lightness and springtime refinement. Directly inspired by the Louis XV Rococo style, this piece was crafted in Italy during the mid-20th century, a country renowned for its mastery of decorative ironwork and fine ceramics.
The gilded metal frame, wrought with great fluidity, mimics organic stems reaching upward. It is entirely adorned with a profusion of Capodimonte-style porcelain flowers, hand-modeled and hand-painted in soft pastel shades of powder pink, lavender, and pale yellow. Each blossom appears to bloom amidst delicately chased golden foliage, creating a beautiful interplay of textures between the metallic luster and the silken matte finish of the porcelain.
The balance of its silhouette and the finesse of its floral decor make it an exceptionally elegant piece, capable of bringing soft light and a bucolic touch to a charming interior or a contemporary boudoir.
The state of preservation is excellent. The porcelain flowers have been meticulously preserved, retaining the brilliance of their original colors. The chandelier has been rewired for immediate use, thus combining antique charm with modern comfort.
